Ingredients

The following ingredients have 9 Servings
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, (cold)
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives
  • 1 cup buttermilk*

Instruction

  • Preheat the oven to 500 degrees F, and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Place the flour, baking powder, garlic powder, paprika, and salt in a large bowl and stir to combine.
  • Cut the butter into the flour mixture, until only pea-sized pieces remain.
  • Stir in the shredded cheese and chives.
  • Add the buttermilk, and stir until the dough gathers itself into a ball.
  • Drop 1/4-cup sized balls of biscuit dough onto the prepared baking sheets, allowing a few inches in between for spreading.
  • Bake for 8 to 12 minutes, or until golden brown on the bottoms.
  • Serve warm.
