The following ingredients have 1 Servings
- 24 jalapeno peppers (medium size)
- 1½ cups cheddar cheese (shredded)
- 3 eggs (slightly beaten)
- 2 cups breadcrumbs
- 6 cups vegetable oil for frying
Instruction
- Wearing plastic gloves, cut the stem end off peppers with a paring knife. Carefully remove seeds and white membrane.
- Stuff peppers with cheese.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375 degrees.
- Place eggs in a small bowl.
- Place breadcrumbs in a shallow pan.
- Drop 4 peppers in eggs and toss to coat.
- Using a fork, lift 1 pepper at a time out of the eggs, shaking off excess.
- Drop the egg-coated pepper into the breadcrumbs and toss to coat
- Place breaded pepper on a sheet pan.
- Repeat with remaining peppers.
- When all peppers are coated, let them sit to dry for 15 minutes.
- With a slotted spoon, place peppers, a few at a time, into the hot oil.
- Fry for 2 to 3 minutes, until golden.
- Transfer fried poppers to a platter lined with paper towels to drain.
- Repeat with remaining peppers.
- Serve immediately.
