Ingredients

The following ingredients have 4 Servings
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 2 bartlett pears (core removed & thinly sliced)
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 round sourdough bread loaf
  • 7 oz round brie cheese
  • 2 tbsp honey

Instruction

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  • Place the butter in a large skillet over medium high heat.
  • Once the butter has melted, add the pears and brown sugar.
  • Cook for 10-12 minutes, or until the pears are caramelized.
  • Meanwhile, slice the top ½ inch off of the round of sourdough bread.
  • Cut a circle the size of the brie from the middle of the sourdough loaf, being careful not to cut through to the bottom of the loaf.
  • Place the brie in the middle of the loaf.
  • Top with the caramelized pears, then drizzle with the honey.
  • Place on a baking dish and cover with the top slice of bread.
  • Place in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and slice the top piece of bread into cubes to serve with the brie for dipping.
  • Cut slits every inch along the edge of the bread bowl, for easy pulling apart and dipping.
