Ingredients
The following ingredients have 4 Servings
- 2 large yellow onions chopped
- 1 1/2 tbsp. unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp. olive oil
- 1/2 tsp. dried thyme
- sprinkle of salt on onions
- 1 tbsp. balsamic vinegar
- 1 1/2 cups sour cream
- 1/4 cup mayo
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp. onion powder
- 1/2 tsp. dried parsley flakes
- salt & pepper to taste
Instruction
- Melt butter and olive oil over medium heat in cast iron skillet and add chopped onions.
- Cook about 4-6 minutes. Then add dried thyme, a sprinkle of salt over onions and stir.
- Continue to cook and stir checking frequently approximately 20 more minutes.
- Then add balsamic vinegar, stir and remove from heat to cool.
- Put cooled caramelized onions in a bowl along with remaining dip ingredients and combine.
- Cover and refrigerate a minimum of 2 hours before serving.
