Ingredients

The following ingredients have 4 Servings
  • 2 cups roasted hazelnuts (peeled)
  • 1/2 Cup granulated sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons Water
  • 2 cups hot coffee or espresso
  • 1 Pint Ice Cream
  • Wafers (optional)

Instruction

  • For Caramelized Hazelnuts
  • Preheat oven to 300 Degrees Fahrenheit
  • Line a sheet pan with parchment paper
  • In a heavy bottomed pot heat the sugar and water together on medium heat. Don't stir
  • When the caramel turns amber in color, add the hazelnuts and mix well until coated
  • Throw the hazelnuts in the sheet pan
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes mixing them every 5-7 minutes
  • Let it cool and enjoy!
  • For Affogato:
  • Place ice cream, wafers and hazelnuts in a glass, cup, mug or bowl
  • Pour hot coffee over this mixture
  • Enjoy!
