Ingredients

The following ingredients have 8 Servings
  • 180 g butter
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 2 pear large peeled quartered
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3 egg
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 3/4 cup almond meal
  • 1 cup self-raising flour
  • 1/3 cup milk

Instruction

  • Preheat oven to 180C and grease and line a 23cm springform cake tin.
  • Melt 60g of the butter in a saucepan and stir in brown sugar.
  • Stir over low heat until it is well combined.
  • Pour into base of baking tin.
  • Arrange pears, curved side down, in a fan like pattern around tin.
  • Cream butter and sugar, then add the rest of the ingredients.
  • Mix until combined.
  • Pour mixture over pears and bake for 50-60 minutes.
  • Allow to sit for 10 minutes before turning out.
  • Serve with whipped cream.
