Ingredients
The following ingredients have 4 Servings
- 500 g (fillets) chicken thighs chopped into pieces
- 1 tbs canola oil
- 1 red onion sliced
- 4 garlic clove sliced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup fish sauce
- 1 pinch ground black pepper
Instruction
- Place the chicken and oil into a bowl and toss.
- Place wok over high heat until hot and add the chicken. Cook chicken in two batches for 2 minutes on first side until lightly brown and 1 minute on the other side.
- Remove chicken from pan and reduce heat to medium, then add the onion and garlic and cook for 5 minutes stirring occasionally.
- Return the chicken to pan and add soy sauce and black pepper stirring to combine.
- Cover wok, reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Increase heat to high, add sugar and stir, cook uncovered for a further 3 minutes until the sauce is rich, dark and syrupy.
- Add fish sauce and stir to combine.
