  • 1 vanilla bean, (split and scraped (pod reserved))
  • 8 medium apples, (peeled, cored, and thinly sliced)
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, (divided)
  • ¼ cup (50 g) granulated sugar, ((for topping pie))
  • ¼ cup (½ stick / 57 g) unsalted butter, ((for topping pie))
