Ingredients

The following ingredients have 4 Servings
  • 1 1/2 cups bulgur wheat uncooked
  • 3 cups water
  • 6 button mushrooms quartered
  • 2 onions chopped medium
  • 3 tbs butter
  • 2 tbs canola oil
  • 1 tbs salt
  • 1 pinch salt and pepper *to taste *to season

Instruction

  • In a large saucepan, bring water to the boil, then add salt and butter. Let it melt.
  • Add bulgur wheat to the water and cook over high heat until almost all water absorbed.
  • Reduce the heat to minimum, place a clean towel (paper towel can also be used) over the top of the pan, cover with a lid and allow bulgur to sit undisturbed for 15 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, in the large skillet over medium, heat canola oil, mushrooms and onions. Cook stirring for 10-12 minutes or until brown. Remove from the heat.
  • Combine cooked mushrooms and onions with bulgur wheat and stir thoroughly. Season with salt and pepper and serve.
