Ingredients
The following ingredients have 4 Servings
- 2 lbs ground beef
- 1.5 cups celery (chopped, about 4 stalks)
- 1.5 cups carrots (chopped, about 2 large carrots)
- 1 large onion (diced)
- 1 large green bell pepper (diced)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced, or 1 tsp jarred minced garlic)
- 28 oz can whole tomatoes
- 10.75 oz tomato soup (1 can)
- 15 oz tomato sauce (1 can)
- 12 oz tomato paste (1 can)
- 1 cup dry red wine
- 3/4 cup whole milk
- 1 Tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 Tbsp salt
- 1 tsp crushed dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp dried marjoram
- 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
Instruction
- Brown ground beef in a large pot. Drain, leaving about 2 tablespoons of fat.
- Add the celery, carrot, onion, green bell pepper and garlic and cook, stirring occasionally, until vegetables start to soften and are fragrant, about 5 to 10 minutes.
- Add remaining ingredients to the pot, stir to combine everything. Lower heat, and allow sauce to simmer, uncovered, for about 2 to 3 hours, stirring occasionally.
