Ingredients

The following ingredients have 4 Servings
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 3/4 tsp table salt
  • 3/4 cup butter softened
  • 1-1/3 cups granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tbsp buttermilk
  • 1-1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 5 tsp Super Red Food Color
  • 1 cup confectioners sugar
  • 2-3 packages bloodshot candy eyeballs

Instruction

  • Combine flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whip softened butter and sugar together until fluffy.
  • Mix in eggs.
  • Add buttermilk, vanilla, and red food color.
  • Slowly mix in dry ingredients until just combined.
  • Cover and chill dough at least 4 hours.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Roll chilled dough between hands into 1-1/2″ balls and then roll in confectioners sugar to coat.
  • Bake on a parchment-lined baking sheet for 13-14 minutes.
  • Immediately after removing from the oven, place the eyeballs on the cookies & press in before they cool.
  • Cool on pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
