Ingredients

The following ingredients have 4 Servings
  • 4 salmon fillets (6 ounce each)
  • 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon dark brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt (or ¼ teaspoon table salt)
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne powder (optional)

Instruction

  • Combine spices and brown sugar in a small bowl.
  • Lay out salmon fillets and coat both sides equally with the seasoning mixture.
  • In a 12-inch skillet add olive oil and set over medium heat.
  • When the oil is hot add the salmon and cook for about 4-6 minutes per side or until blackened and cooked to your desired doneness. Do not overcook.
