Ingredients

The following ingredients have 2 Servings
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh blackberries
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 5 blackberries
  • 3 mint leaves
  • 3/4 oz. lime juice
  • 2 oz. blackberry simple syrup
  • 2 oz. white rum
  • 2 oz. club soda
  • Ice

Instruction

  • For the blackberry simple syrup: add the blackberries, granulated sugar and water to a small saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a simmer. Cook for 15 minutes, stirring and smashing the berries every few minutes.
  • Place a strainer over a large bowl. Strain the syrup into the bowl. Allow to cool. Store in the refrigerator in an airtight container.
  • Place 5 blackberries and mint leaves in the bottom of a cocktail glass. Mash with a muddler until smashed and bruised. Add lime juice, simple syrup and white rum to the glass and stir until well combined. Add desired amount of ice and top with club soda.
