Ingredients

The following ingredients have 6 Servings
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 cups fresh peach slices (or canned peach slices)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

Instruction

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Add melted butter to a 9x9-inch baking dish.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, 1 cup white sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add milk and vanilla extract, stirring just until dry ingredients are moistened.
  • Pour mixture into the buttered pan and do not stir.
  • Add 1 cup brown sugar, peach slices, lemon zest and lemon juice to a medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
  • Pour mixture uniformly over the batter and do not stir. Sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg, if desired.
  • Bake for 40 to 45 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Serve cobbler warm with vanilla ice cream..
