Ingredients
The following ingredients have 4 Servings
- 1 loaf french bread (or Italian bread)
- 1/2 cup salted butter ((1 stick), softened)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp garlic (minced)
- 1 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp kosher sea salt
- 1 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup finely shredded parmesan cheese
- 1 tbsp finely chopped fresh parsley (OR 1 tsp. dried parsley flakes)
Instruction
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- Using a large bread knife, slice the bread in half lengthwise. Cut two sheets of foil about 24-inch long and place on a baking sheet, side by side. Place the bread on top of the foil.
- In a medium mixing bowl, using a spatula, mix the butter, olive oil, garlic, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and salt together until smooth and creamy. Spread the mixture over both bread halves. Wrap the foil over the sides of the bread and crimp, then roll up the ends of the foil. Place in the oven and bake for 10 minutes.
- Remove from the oven, open the foil and roll down around the edges of the garlic bread. Sprinkle with half of the parmesan, then all of the mozzarella, finish with the remaining parmesan.
- Return to the oven and bake uncovered for 6 minutes or until the cheese is melty and it begins to brown. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with additional parmesan (if desired) and parsley. Slice and serve immediately.
