Ingredients

The following ingredients have 6 Servings
  • 1/2 pound lean ground beef
  • 3/4 cup fresh or frozen corn kernels
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 3/4 cup no-salt-added black beans or pinto beans (from a 15-ounce can), drained and rinsed
  • 1 pound whole wheat pizza dough
  • Canola spray oil
  • 2/3 cup salsa, preferably medium or hot
  • 3/4 cup shredded mild Cheddar cheese

Instruction

  • Preheat the oven to 450°F.
  • Place beef in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Cook, breaking beef up, until browned, about 7 minutes.
  • Stir in corn and chili powder, and cook until corn is warmed through.
  • Stir in beans.
  • Place pizza dough on the lightly-oiled baking sheet and press or roll out until it is very thin, and you have an 11x15-inch oval, leaving a 1/2-inch border.
  • Top evenly with beef mixture and sprinkle with cheese.
  • Bake until crust is browned and crisp, and cheese is browned and bubbling, 15 to 20 minutes. Cut into 12 pieces and garnish as desired.
