Ingredients

The following ingredients have 6 Servings
  • 1 kg beef mince
  • 45 g salt-reduced French onion soup mix
  • 400 g mushroom soup
  • 1 onion diced
  • 4 bacon rashers diced
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 500 g potato gems
  • 1 cup cheese grated

Instruction

  • Preheat oven to 160C fan-forced.
  • Cook onion and bacon for 2 minutes in a fry-pan, add mince and cook for 5 minutes or until brown and cooked through.
  • Remove from heat, add the French onion soup, stir in well.
  • Transfer mince mixture into a square casserole dish and level off. Spoon mushroom soup over mince and level, gently pour over the milk and allow to rest for 5 minutes, then sprinkle cheese over.
  • Stand the potato gems up beginning at edge of dish, place in rows until top is covered.
  • Bake for 40 minutes. Stand 5 minutes before serving.
