Ingredients
The following ingredients have 4 Servings
- 1 lb. flank steak sliced thinly against the grain
- Marinade:
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/8 tsp baking soda
- 1 Tbsp salt
- 1 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp Mirin (sweet cooking rice seasoning)
- 1 Tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 1 egg, beaten
- Sauce:
- 1 tsp ginger
- 1/2 tsp garlic, minced garlic
- 1 lb bag of frozen steam-able broccoli
- 2 Tbsp oyster sauce
- 2 Tbsp water
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp sugar
- hot cooked rice
Instruction
- In a bowl, combine all of the marinade. Add beef and toss to coat. Cover and place in the fridge. Allow to marinate for 8 hours.
- Heat wok or large skillet, add a little oil to prevent to meat from cooking. Add marinated meat to the skillet along with the 1 tsp ginger and minced garlic. Stir-fry until beef is done. This should only take a few minutes.
- In the meantime, steam broccoli according to package directions in the microwave. Drain.
- Add broccoli to the wok along with the oyster sauce. Combine water and cornstarch and add to the wok along with 1 tsp sugar. Cook until all the meat and broccoli is well coated and mixture thicks slightly.
- Serve over hot cooked rice. Serves 4-5.
