Ingredients

The following ingredients have 4 Servings
  • 1 lb. flank steak sliced thinly against the grain
  • Marinade:
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/8 tsp baking soda
  • 1 Tbsp salt
  • 1 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp Mirin (sweet cooking rice seasoning)
  • 1 Tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Sauce:
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • 1/2 tsp garlic, minced garlic
  • 1 lb bag of frozen steam-able broccoli
  • 2 Tbsp oyster sauce
  • 2 Tbsp water
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • hot cooked rice

Instruction

  • In a bowl, combine all of the marinade. Add beef and toss to coat. Cover and place in the fridge. Allow to marinate for 8 hours.
  • Heat wok or large skillet, add a little oil to prevent to meat from cooking. Add marinated meat to the skillet along with the 1 tsp ginger and minced garlic. Stir-fry until beef is done. This should only take a few minutes.
  • In the meantime, steam broccoli according to package directions in the microwave. Drain.
  • Add broccoli to the wok along with the oyster sauce. Combine water and cornstarch and add to the wok along with 1 tsp sugar. Cook until all the meat and broccoli is well coated and mixture thicks slightly.
  • Serve over hot cooked rice. Serves 4-5.
