Ingredients

The following ingredients have 4 Servings
  • 5 Red onions (cut into rings)
  • 4 Tbsps olive oil
  • 1 tsp Mustard seed
  • 0.25 cup Red wine
  • 3 Tbsps balsamic vinegar
  • 4 Steak approx. 120 g each (e. g. ribeye)
  • 8 slices white Bread
  • 4 Lettuce (e. g. lollo rosso; shredded)
  • 2 tomatoes (sliced)

Instruction

  • Fry the onions in 2 tbsp oil for 4-5 minutes. Add the mustard seeds and quench with red wine.
  • Add the balsamic vinegar and simmer for approx. 10 minutes. If necessary add a little water. Season with salt and ground black pepper.
  • Season the steaks with salt and ground black pepper and fry in the remaining oil for 1-2 minutes.
  • Cover four slices of bread with the lettuce and tomatoes. Add the steaks and the onions and then place the other slice of bread on top.
