Ingredients

The following ingredients have 4 Servings
  • 4 apples (cored and cut into 8 wedges)
  • ½ lime, (juice only)
  • 25 g light muscovado sugar ((1oz/2tbsp))
  • ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
  • 25 g melted butter ((1oz/1tbsp))
  • 125 g butter ((4oz/1 stick))
  • 100 g light muscovado sugar ((3½oz /½ cup))
  • 6 tbsp double (heavy) cream
  • pinch sea salt

Instruction

  • Make the sauce. Melt the butter with the sugar in a small saucepan. Add the cream and bring to boil and boil 1–2 minutes, then set aside to cool slightly. Stir in a pinch of salt.
  • Toss apples in lemon or lime juice. Mix the sugar and cinnamon together and sprinkle over the fruit. Toss again to coat. Thread the apple wedges onto 4 skewers. 
  • When ready to serve, grill the apple skewers on the barbecue or under a hot grill for about 5-15 minutes turning and basting with a little melted butter until just tender
  • If required, gently reheat the sauce. Serve the apple skewers with the sauce drizzled over.
