Ingredients
The following ingredients have 4 Servings
- 4 apples (cored and cut into 8 wedges)
- ½ lime, (juice only)
- 25 g light muscovado sugar ((1oz/2tbsp))
- ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
- 25 g melted butter ((1oz/1tbsp))
- 125 g butter ((4oz/1 stick))
- 100 g light muscovado sugar ((3½oz /½ cup))
- 6 tbsp double (heavy) cream
- pinch sea salt
Instruction
- Make the sauce. Melt the butter with the sugar in a small saucepan. Add the cream and bring to boil and boil 1–2 minutes, then set aside to cool slightly. Stir in a pinch of salt.
- Toss apples in lemon or lime juice. Mix the sugar and cinnamon together and sprinkle over the fruit. Toss again to coat. Thread the apple wedges onto 4 skewers.
- When ready to serve, grill the apple skewers on the barbecue or under a hot grill for about 5-15 minutes turning and basting with a little melted butter until just tender
- If required, gently reheat the sauce. Serve the apple skewers with the sauce drizzled over.
