Ingredients

The following ingredients have 4 Servings
  • 750g lean beef mince
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup fresh breadcrumbs
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp curry powder
  • 1 tbs parsley, chopped *optional
  • 1 pinch salt and pepper *to taste
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 2 tbs white vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbs fruit chutney

Instruction

  • Meatballs: Combine beef mince, egg, breadcrumbs, onion, curry powder, parsley, salt and pepper. Mix well.
  • Form tablespoons of mixture into balls, place in baking dish and bake at 170C for 30 minutes.
  • Pour off any excess fat.
  • Sauce: Combine all ingredients in a saucepan.
  • Stir until sugar has dissolved, bring to the boil and remove from heat.
  • Pour sauce over meatballs, return to oven and bake a further 15 - 20 minutes, basting occasionally with sauce. if doing these on the chargrill barbecue, simply place in a cast iron pot and cover with a lid. Cook for 15 minutes.
