- 1 pound ground beef

- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper (to taste)
- all-purpose flour for dredging
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 pound dried ziti
- 1 1/2 cups fresh basil leaves (julienned)
- 5 cups marinara sauce
- 3 cups whole milk ricotta
- 2 cups mozzarella, (shredded)
- 1/2 cup parmesan, (grated)
- 6 tablespoons butter, (cut into 1/4 inch pieces)
