Ingredients

The following ingredients have 1 Servings
  • 1 sheet puff pastry ((defrosted - and rolled out))
  • 8 ounces brie wheel
  • 4 tablespoons prune spread ((or any jam you like))
  • 3 tablespoons pecans ((or any nut)
  • 1 egg ((plus 2 tablespoons milk for egg wash - this is optional))
  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon pecans ((optional topping))

Instruction

  • Take puff pastry sheet out of freezer at least 40 minutes before starting. When puff pastry has defrosted, either take a rolling pin to smooth it out or leave as is.
  • Preheat oven to 375 F. Cover a small jelly roll pan with parchment paper.
  • Lay puff pastry flat on the jelly roll pan.
  • Unwrap wheel of brie and place it in the middle of the pastry.
  • Slather jam on brie and sprinkle pecans on top. Pull ends of pastry up over the brie and seal it as best you can.
  • For the egg wash, crack egg in bowl, add two tablespoons of milk and whisk until combined.
  • Take a pastry brush and paint the egg on the pastry.
  • Bake for 25 - 30 minutes.
  • Place brie on serving dish and sprinkle more pecans on top. Pour as much maple syrup on top.
  • Gather crackers or bread for the brie and cut the cheese in half.
