Ingredients

The following ingredients have 12 Servings
  • 2 cups of white whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon of cardamom
  • 1/4 teaspoon of fresh grated ginger
  • 3/4 cup of milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup of coconut oil, melted
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 cup of granny smith apples, peeled & diced (about 1 large apple)
  • 4 oz. of cream cheese, softened
  • 3 tablespoons of maple syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon of cardamom

Instruction

  • Preheat oven to 375.
  • In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, cinnaon, cardamom, and fresh ginger.
  • Add in milk, eggs, coconut oil, and vanilla extract. Toss till everything is combined.
  • Fold in diced apples.
  • Spray donut tin with PAM.
  • Fill donut tins 1/2-3/4 of the way full.
  • Bake for 10-14 minutes.
  • Remove from pan and let cool on cooling rack.
  • In a small bowl, mix cream cheese, maple syrup, and cardamom using a hand mixer. Combine until smooth.
  • Top donuts with cream cheese mixture.
  • Serve! {preferably with coffee… :)}
