Ingredients
The following ingredients have 12 Servings
- 12 jalapeno peppers
- 6 strips bacon (baked at 400 for 10 minutes, finely chopped after baking)
- 8 oz cream cheese
- 6 oz sharp Cheddar cheese (finely cubed)
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon sea salt (or to taste)
- 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (more if needed)
- avocado oil (for frying)
Instruction
- Using gloves, slice jalapeños in half lengthwise. Using a spoon scrape out the seeds inside of the peppers. Rinse in a cold water.
- Inside the bowl, combine bacon pieces, cream cheese and cheddar cheese until well blended.
- Using a spoon fill each pepper half with the cheese mixture. Using a bowl combine flour, salt, pepper, paprika, chili powder, and garlic powder, give it a good stir. Pour milk into a bowl.
- Dip jalapeno into the flour mixture, then milk, and then back into the flour mixture. Place jalapeño pepper on a baking sheet with a rack. Let rest for about 10-15 minutes. This step is very important.
- Add breadcrumbs into a bowl. Dip floured jalapeno peppers into the milk and then into the bread crumbs. Place peppers back on the rack and let them rest for few more minutes.
- Heat oil to 350 degrees. Dip jalapeños into the milk and the bread crumbs for one last time, let rest for 5 minutes before frying. Working in batches, fry peppers until golden brown color, about 3-4 minutes.
- Transfer onto a plate lined with paper towel. Enjoy!
