Ingredients
The following ingredients have 12 Servings
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 medium onion (diced)
- olive oil
- 12 oz package thick cut bacon (cooked and drained and chopped or crumbled)
- 12 dill pickle slices
- 2 tsp steak seasoning i.e. Montreal, Chicago or similar
- 1 tsp salt (adjust amount to taste)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 12 slices cheddar or American cheese
- ketchup
- yellow mustard
- 1 12 count package sweet Hawaiian rolls
- 4 Tbsp butter (melted)
- 2 tsp sesame seeds
Instruction
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
- In a medium size skillet cook ground beef and onion in a couple of drizzles of olive oil over medium-high heat. Cook until no pink remains then drain any excess fat from the pan.
- To the beef add Worcestershire, steak seasoning, salt and garlic powder. Mix well, simmer for 2 minutes then remove from the heat.
- Using a serrated knife, cut rolls through the middle leaving individual rolls attached. Brush both sides with melted butter reserving some for the top.
- To assemble: Arrange 6 slices of cheese onto the bottom piece. Top with cooked ground beef. Drizzle with ketchup and mustard, eyeball the amount.
- Arrange pickles and bacon over beef. Top with remaining 6 pieces of cheese.
- Place top piece of rolls over cheese. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- Cover loosely with foil. Bake for 20 minutes, then remove foil baking for another 5-10 minutes until lightly toasted and cheese has fully melted.
- Use a sharp knife to cut between rolls and serve immediately.
