Ingredients
The following ingredients have 12 Servings
- 2 ½ cups flour
- 4 tsp. baking powder
- 1 Tbs. sugar
- ½ tsp. kosher salt
- ½ tsp. garlic powder
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ¼ cup crumbled crisp-cooked bacon ((about 4 strips of bacon))
- 1 cup milk
- 1 large egg (, lightly beaten)
- 4 Tbs. butter (, melted)
- Additional shredded cheddar cheese and bacon to sprinkle on top (, optional)
Instruction
- Preheat oven to 350F. Grease and flour an 8 ½ x 4 ½-inch loaf pan.
- In bowl combine flour, baking powder, sugar, kosher salt and garlic powder until blended.
- Stir in cheddar cheese and bacon.
- Add milk, egg and melted butter and stir just until a wet dough forms.
- Transfer to prepared pan. Sprinkle with additional cheddar cheese and bacon, if desired.
- Bake 45 minutes or until baked through and hollow when tapped.
- Cool in pan 10 minutes. Transfer loaf to baking rack, loosening edges with a knife if necessary, and cool or eat warm if you can’t resist!
