Ingredients

The following ingredients have 12 Servings
  • 2 ½ cups flour
  • 4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 Tbs. sugar
  • ½ tsp. kosher salt
  • ½ tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ¼ cup crumbled crisp-cooked bacon ((about 4 strips of bacon))
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 large egg (, lightly beaten)
  • 4 Tbs. butter (, melted)
  • Additional shredded cheddar cheese and bacon to sprinkle on top (, optional)

Instruction

  • Preheat oven to 350F. Grease and flour an 8 ½ x 4 ½-inch loaf pan.
  • In bowl combine flour, baking powder, sugar, kosher salt and garlic powder until blended.
  • Stir in cheddar cheese and bacon.
  • Add milk, egg and melted butter and stir just until a wet dough forms.
  • Transfer to prepared pan. Sprinkle with additional cheddar cheese and bacon, if desired.
  • Bake 45 minutes or until baked through and hollow when tapped.
  • Cool in pan 10 minutes. Transfer loaf to baking rack, loosening edges with a knife if necessary, and cool or eat warm if you can’t resist!
