Ingredients

The following ingredients have 4 Servings
  • 8 slices bacon, cooked and diced
  • 4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup chives, diced (green part only)
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 4 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, frozen
  • 1 3/4 cups buttermilk

Instruction

  • In a large bowl combine cooked bacon, flour, chives, cheddar cheese, baking powder, baking soda, salt, onion and garlic powder.
  • Grate frozen butter using a cheese grater. Stir into the dry ingredients.
  • Add buttermilk and stir until combined. Make sure not to overmix.
  • Lightly flour countertop and roll out dough into a 1 1/4 inch thick rectangle. Cut out 16 biscuits using a 2 inch biscuit cutter.
  • Place biscuits on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and place in the freezer for 30 minutes.
  • Meanwhile preheat oven to 450 degrees.
  • Remove the biscuits from the freezer and bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm!
