  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 tomato (medium size)
  • 1 tsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp black mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp urad dal (/ skinless black gram)
  • ½ tsp asafoetida
  • 4 cups water
  • 1/2 cup coriander leaves (/cilantro)
  • 1 sprig curry leaves
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp salt (or as required)
