Ingredients
The following ingredients have 8 Servings
- 425g canned apples
- 1 tbs caster sugar
- 2 tbs water
- 3 tsp caster sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/3 cup caster sugar
- 1/3 cup cornflour
- 1/4 cup self-raising flour
Instruction
- Simmer apples, sugar and water in a covered saucepan for about 5 minutes, or until apples are tender. Keep hot while preparing sponge topping.
- Beat eggs in small bowl with electric mixer until thick and creamy, add sugar gradually and beat until dissolved. Lightly fold in sifted flours.
- Pour hot apples and liquid into ovenproof dish. Quickly spread sponge topping over apples, sprinkle with extra sugar.
- Bake at 180C for approximately 20 minutes or until sponge feels firm to the touch and is lightly browned.
- Serve with cream or ice-cream.
