Ingredients
The following ingredients have 12 Servings
- 3 cups all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon + 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, divided
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 4 eggs
- 2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 5 granny smith apples, peeled, cored and diced into half inch pieces
Instruction
- Preheat the oven to 350 and line a 9x13 baking dish with parchment paper. Spray parchment with non-stick spray.
- Prepare your apples and set aside.
- In a medium bowl stir together the flour, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, cloves, allspice, salt and baking powder.In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, vanilla, white and brown sugars, oil and orange juice.
- Whisk the dry ingredients into the wet, stirring just until the batter comes together and no large flour streaks remain.
- Fold half of the apples into the batter, and pour into the prepared pan.
- Scatter the rest of the apples over the top of the cake, and then sprinkle the remaining 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon over the apples.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until browned and a tested inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
