Ingredients

The following ingredients have 4 Servings
  • 4 tablespoons butter (divided)
  • 2 bone-in pork chops
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 medium tart apples (chopped)
  • 6 sweet potatoes (peeled and cubed)
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • salt
  • Fresh rosemary

Instruction

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add potatoes and cook until tender, 20 to 30 minutes.
  • In the meantime, in a small bowl, mix together salt, 1 tablespoon brown sugar and 1 teaspoon black pepper. Season the pork chops with the mixture and set aside.
  • In a large heavy skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add seasoned pork chops and cook 4-5 minutes on each side.
  • Using tongs, remove the pork chops and set aside, keep warm.
  • Add to the skillet the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter, chopped apples, 2 tablespoons brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg.
  • Cook and stir until apples are tender, about 7 - 10 minutes.
