Ingredients
The following ingredients have 4 Servings
- 1 cup self-raising flour (sifted)
- ½ cup ground almonds ((almond meal))
- ⅔ cup caster sugar
- 120 grams softened butter (cut into small pieces)
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup buttermilk
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 large apple (cored and sliced)
- 2 tbsp brown sugar (or demerara sugar)
Instruction
- Preheat the oven for 160 degrees Celsius (325Â Fahrenheit) and prepare a 20cm springform cake tin.
- In a electric mixer, with a paddle attachment fitted, add all of the ingredients except the apple and demerara sugar and mix until just combined. Pour the mixture into the springform tin.
- Top with the sliced apple and sprinkle with sugar.
- Bake for 45 minutes or until the cake is cooked through.
