Ingredients

The following ingredients have 4 Servings
  • 500 gms dried figs / anjeer
  • 2 tbsp ghee / clarified butter
  • 1 cup nuts of your choice
  • 1 cup milk powder
  • 2 - 3 cardamom

Instruction

  • Soak the dried figs or the anjeer in hot water for atleast half an hour.
  • Chop them to pieces and grind them in the food processor to make a coarse mixture. Do not skip the chopping, the anjeer wouldn't grind and the processor would trouble you. Alternatively you can even grind it in a mixer grinder but I personally like the coarse mixture rather than like a puree.
  • Chop the nuts finely or alternatively pass them through the food processor. (Yes, I love my food processor to the core)
  • Heat oil in a non stick pan. Add the nuts and fry till lightly golden brown in color.
  • Add the milk powder now and add some water to prevent it from burning.
  • Quickly add the anjeer mixture and keep stirring until all the water has dried up from the halwa.
  • Garnish with nuts, and serve warm or at room temperature
