- 1 cup dark corn syrup
- 1 tbsp vinegar
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tbsp baking soda
- 1 pound chocolate confectioners' coating
Instruction
- Prepare a 9 x 13 baking dish by coating with butter.
- Over medium heat and using a medium sized saucepan, add corn syrup, vinegar, and sugar.
- Stir continuously until the sugar is dissolved.
- Continue cooking without stirring until a candy thermometer reads 300° to 310°.
- Remove the pan off of the heat.
- In the prepared baking dish, pour the hot liquid. Don't spread it out, it won't fill the pan.
- Allow to fully cool.
- Break the cooled candy into pieces (bite-sized or whatever size you prefer).
- Using a double boiler, add chocolate coating. Stir often until the chocolate melts and is smooth.
- Dip the candy pieces in the melted chocolate and place on waxed paper to set.
- Store candy in an airtight container.
