- • 1/2 cup water
- • 1 tablespoon grated orange zest
- • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- • 3/4 cup fresh orange juice
- For the final frosting:
- • All of the Clear Orange Caramel Sauce
- • 2 cups turbinado powdered sugar
- • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, cut in tablespoon pieces and slightly softened
- • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream, room temperature
- • 1 heaping teaspoon of fleur de sel or Maldon sea salt flakes
- • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- • 2 tablespoons orange liqueur,( I used Grand Marnier)
- • 2 to 2 1/2 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
- • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- • 1/2 teaspoon salt
- • 1 tablespoon sugar
- • 1 cup (2 sticks) cold unsalted butter, cut into 1/4- inch pieces
- • 1 cup cold sour cream
