  • • 1 1/2 cups Turbinado sugar
  • • 1/2 cup water
  • • 1 tablespoon grated orange zest
  • • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • • 3/4 cup fresh orange juice
  • For the final frosting:
  • • All of the Clear Orange Caramel Sauce
  • • 2 cups turbinado powdered sugar
  • • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, cut in tablespoon pieces and slightly softened
  • • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream, room temperature
  • • 1 heaping teaspoon of fleur de sel or Maldon sea salt flakes
  • • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • • 2 tablespoons orange liqueur,( I used Grand Marnier)
  • • 2 to 2 1/2 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
  • • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • • 1 cup (2 sticks) cold unsalted butter, cut into 1/4- inch pieces
  • • 1 cup cold sour cream
