Ingredients
The following ingredients have 2 Servings
- 1/2 large sweet onion (cut into 1/4 inch slices)
- 8 ounces ground beef
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire Sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 slices marble rye bread
- 2 tablespoons butter (unsalted, room temperature)
- 4 slices Swiss Cheese
Instruction
- Start by preheating your air fryer to 350 degrees F, air fryer setting. Then spray the basket with cooking spray.
- Add the onions to the air fryer basket and spray them generously with cooking sprays. Shake the basket to coat the onions. Air fry for 10-15 minutes until the onions are softened and charred, shake the basket every few minutes, so they cook evenly.
- Once they are done, take them out of the air fryer, and set them aside.
- While the onions are cooking, prepare the patties by m making the ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper in a medium-sized bowl.
- Form two patties, I like to make the patties oval-shaped and very flat, close to the shape of the bread I am using.
- Preheat the air fryer to 375 degrees F, air fryer setting.
- Add the patties to the air fryer basket, not touching. You may need to cook in batches. Air fry for 6 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Take one piece of bread and smear 1/2 tablespoon of butter on one side. Place the bread butter side down into the air fryer.
- Place one slice of cheese on top of the bread, followed by a burger patty, half the onions, and one more cheese slice. Butter another slice of bread on one side with 1/2 tablespoon of the butter, place the bread butter side up onto the sandwich.
- Air Fry for 3 minutes, flip the sandwich over, and air fry for another 2 minutes until lightly toasted on the outside, and the cheese is melted.
- Repeat with the other sandwich.
- Plate, serve, and enjoy!
