Ingredients
The following ingredients have 4 Servings
- 1/4 cup hot melted butter
- 2 1/2 cups Bisquick baking mix (, divided )
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup 7 Up soda ((or Sprite. Avoid diet sodas for this recipe.))
Instruction
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
- Place melted butter into a 9x9 square baking dish. (Or 8x8 baking dish is fine, if that's all you have.)
- In a medium sized bowl, add 2 cups of the Bisquick baking mix and sour cream; cut in the sour cream with a pastry cutter or fork until just combined and the mixture resembles pea sized crumbs.
- Stir in the 7 up until just combined. (The dough will be very soft and sticky.)
- Sprinkle 1/4 cup of the Bisquick baking mix onto a a clean countertop or cutting board and place dough on top of it, and then sprinkle the top of the dough with the remaining 1/4 cup baking mix.
- Using your hands, briefly knead and fold dough until coated with your baking mix. Pat dough out (no rolling pin needed) into an 9-inch square, between a 1/2 to 3/4-inch thick.
- Transfer the dough slab on top of the hot butter, making sure to cover the bottom of the pan. Using a sharp knife, cut the dough into 9 equal squares.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Serve warm with a dab of butter. These go great with our chicken pot pie soup!NOTE: For storage info and questions regarding the soda or Bisquick, please refer to the article.
