- 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- salt and pepper
- 1 tablespoon peanut oil (or any cooking oil)
- 1 batch teriyaki sauce (see below)
- optional toppings: toasted sesame seeds, thinly-sliced green onions
- 1 clove garlic, peeled and minced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons mirin (sweet rice wine)
- 2 tablespoons rice wine vinegar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
